Church of the Good Shepherd

Lorimer's original features remain intact and will be on display

The Good Shepherd was one of the first major commissions of renowned Scottish architect, Sir Robert Lorimer

The Good Shepherd, set in lovely mature gardens, was one of the first major commissions of renowned Scottish architect, Sir Robert Lorimer. Most of Lorimer's original features remain intact, including the later choir screen designed by Lorimer in the Arts & Crafts style and installed in 1912. More recent additions include some fine stained-glass windows. The three-manual pipe organ pre-dates the church, but has recently been substantially renovated and enlarged, and will be played at times during the weekend opening. Lorimer's original designs will be on display, and guides will be present to show visitors around and explain how we have cared for the building over its life.
