The Salisbury Centre
Established in 1973 as a place of welcome for people from all backgrounds to explore personal growth and wellbeing.
Connect with the local community
The Salisbury Centre is a beautiful, listed community building and garden in Southeast Edinburgh. The building has some beautiful key features, such as a stained-glass window and pergola.
It offers spaces for community connection, and is available to hire by the community. It includes an art room, library, studio space, small therapy rooms, and a beautiful community garden, including a food growing space.
The Centre offers a programme of accessible and inclusive activities that are free and by donation, including workshops, community meals, silent meditation, seasonal celebrations, and volunteering opportunities.
It is committed to working towards ecological sustainability, in the belief that personal development goes hand-in-hand with an awareness of the planet's needs. The Centre has delivered skills and education projects addressing this since 2019, including establishing Edinburgh's first Seed Library.
This is the Centre's first time taking part in Doors Open Days, as they are coming up to their 50th Anniversary. The wider community is welcome to come and view the beautiful building and stay for an equinox fire in the evening. The Centre hopes to welcome in people who live nearby but who might not already be familiar with what we do.
