How to find your title deeds

You should have been given a copy of the land certificate or title deeds when you purchased your flat. If you have purchased your property very recently you may simply have been sent an email with a link to the Land Register entry.

If you do not have a copy of your land certificate, you can purchase a copy from the Registers of Scotland. These can be ordered online and will cost a few pounds. Your solicitor should also have kept copies.

You can also request land certificates or title deeds for any other property if you know the address or can give a description of the boundaries. You may want to do this if, for instance, you want to find out for what fraction of repair costs your co-owners are responsible for.
