DESCRIPTION:As the global climate crisis worsens, what can Scotland’s tenement owners do to curb our reliance on fossil fuels and heat our homes in more sustainable ways? \nAs the price of energy continues to rise, how can we bring down the cost of heating our tenement buildings, for owners and tenants alike? \nHeat networks are a clean heating source which uses hot water from a central source, such as a nearby power station or data centre, to heat entire buildings without the need for individual boilers.  \nIn this webinar, Under One Roof will partner with the heat network experts at Vattenfall, ECCAN and Saltire Square & Saltire Street Residents’ Association to explore the basics of how heat networks work, and how they could be used in tenement buildings across Scotland. Together, we’ll discuss some of the barriers tenement owners might face when installing a heat network, and how these issues might be resolved. \nOur speakers will be:  \n\nBen Carter, Account Director for Vattenfall’s Business Development team in Scotland, working to expand access to fairly priced, low carbon heat in Midlothian and surrounding areas through the MEL heat network.
